FAQ » Q142: I need each reservation to contain additional information (answers to specific questions). How can this be done?
You can do this in 'reservation form layout' (available in each resource's properties). Each such question can be in form of a check box (yes/no question), a drop down (one of pre-defined values), or a text box where the user can type the answer. You can choose each question as required (customers will then be forced to fill out these fields) or optional.
Note: if you want to ask for the number of persons, you must name the item
persons. This will be correctly translated to all other languages and this exact item name is required in order for pricing and search to work correctly. Please see
Q202 for a list of other standard item names with special meaning.
There is also a possibility of adding terms and conditions that the visitors must absolutely agree to in order to make a reservation
(more here)Please note that on this page you can also do the following:
- change ordering of the reservation fields
- hide default reservation fields
- add new sections / static text to the form
- specify whether the default fields are required and/or their default value
- determine whether given resource has private resource-specific or global reservation form items. Global form should be used if all your resources will use an identical reservation form. In such case making changes to the reservation form is much easier, you only need to do it once. Resource-specific forms let you customize the form for each individual resource. Please note that you can also import the form either from a given resource or from the global form.
Once you specify the reservation form items, you can add associated rules in
Pricing Manager if you want the price quoted to the customer to depend on the options chosen in the reservation form.
